Me in a Tux

I got to go to my aunt Laleh's wedding today and my mommy and daddy made me wear this crazy tuxedo. I was a little uncomfortable at first, but when I realized how much attention I was getting, I didn't mind so much. You have to admit: I do look REALLY cute!

I'm Starting to Get It

First off, thanks to everyone who dropped a comment here. Keep sending me your shout-outs; my parents love them now, and I'll appreciate them tons when I can read.

Good news! I'm finally starting to get the whole suck-swallow-breathe thing. I've had visits from some physical therapists who are helping me with my bottle feedings, and mommy's been helping me out with the whole breastfeeding thing. The result is that I'm continuing to gain weight--I'm past my birth weight now! I know I still have lots of work ahead of me, but all of this growing is really encouraging for me AND my parents.

Finally, here's a video of me from a few days ago. I still had those pesky breathing tubes on--boy am I glad I got rid of those!

I Have a Name

My parents finally decided to give me a name! (As much as I love being called "Baby Zeb", I was getting tired of hearing them tell the nurses that they hadn't come up with anything yet.) From now on, you can call me (drumroll)....

Kiyon Maxwell Zebarjadi

I think I'm gonna like my name. It's got the right mix of old-school-Persian-shout-out and Baha'i-historical-props. For those who don't know, Kiyon is a reference to a dynasty of Persian monarchs and also means "kings". My middle name is taken from the Maxwell family, prominent Canadian Baha'is that my parents have particular respect for (link link link).

Pictures of ME!

Here I am in all my newborn glory! Yes, I'm very small and yes, I'm pretty funny looking (especially with my legs crossed), but hey, gimme a break, I came out 7 weeks early! Can you see me flexing my guns?

Got tickets to the gun show?

This is a picture of mommy trying to get me to eat from a bottle, but this whole suck-swallow-breathe thing is kinda tripping me out.

Buddies Everywhere!

My buddy Liam Fojas was born yesterday to parents Mark and Mara. I'm so excited for him! Now he can experience all the love from his family and friends!

As it turns out, I have friends all over the world that were either just born or are waiting to hit the real world. I can't wait to meet them all!

Don't get me wrong: it's not that I don't like living it up in here. All I do is kick and grow, kick and grow. But I know there's a whole world out there filled with things to chew on, cover with crayon and break, and it's all waiting for me!

Acrobatics

Last night, mommy was lying on the couch watching Friends (the one the all the rugby) so I decided that it was a good time to do some hard-core gymnastics. I was flipping around so much that daddy wanted to feel, too. At first I was a bit shy, but then I figured I'd surprise him by doing a huge backflip. I could tell he really liked it--we're tight like that--so I kept going in circles for a few minutes. I overhead mommy saying something about how she can feel it more because I'm getting bigger. I can't wait to get out of here so I can do my acrobatic moves all over the house!
