At the risk of offending some of my friends (from Russia? Germany? Mars?) I thought I’d post this 2 minute gem from the 1980s, that most horrific of decades. Boy am I glad East and West can unitedly look back and realize just how far we have come. Enjoy.

UPDATE:  You can find some information about the song and the band on Wikipedia.

Okay, I don’t celebrate Christmas, but maybe for Ayyam-i-Ha one of my dear friends or family members will buy me one of these:

iPhone
Yup, that’s the new iPhone that Apple JUST unvieled at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas Macworld Conference in San Francisco. The iPhone combines a telephone, PDA and iPod into a slick little device with a wide touch screen that works either in portrait or landscape mode. And because it runs Mac OS X, you can run just about any application on it.

Here are some more images (stolen from Engadget):

iPhone Call

iPhone Email

iPhone Picture Gallery

And my favorite picture showing Google Maps on the iPhone (all using touch screen for click and scroll, mind you):

iPhone Google Earth

Okay, it won’t ship until June … so Ayyam-i-Ha is out. But I am eligible for a cell phone upgrade in May, and hopefully someone will be getting me one of these puppies and I can post some more pictures in a month’s time (hint hint)

SHIRIN IS PREGNANT!

She’s in her ninth week, which puts the due date in early July.

We’re obviously really excited and are busy getting ready for the new arrival!

UPDATE:  Shirin has obviously put more thought in her blog entry.

Just a quick line to say thanks to everyone that’s been posting messages and sending emails (Lindsay, Amelia, Peter S., Sum, Manijeh, Pay, and anyone else I missed). I promise we’ll write back soon–we’ll finally be in our own home on Monday and will hopefully have some time to respond personally to all of you.

We’re here in Georgia!  Finally!  We’re all pretty exhausted from the drive down (Shirin and I and my parents) but we’re just glad to be here.  We’ll try to post some pictures in the next day or two.  For now, hello to everyone we haven’t written to recently–you’ll be getting emails from us soon.  And if you haven’t written, well, drop us a line and tell us how things are going.  We promise to be in touch once things settle down a bit!
